Imaginal Worlds - Ibn Arabi and the Problem of Religious Diversity

This work is truly unique in the sense that it explains the doctrines of the greatest Sufi of all ages - Ibn Arabi. By delving deep into the meanings of his doctrines, Professor Chittick explains to us of how through Ibn Arabi's perspective all religions cam be seen to stem from the Divine Essence. By reading this book I came to understand how Ibn Arabi discovered the Unity of the One through the path of earthly diversity - well worth a read.

Sufism - a short introduction

In this work Professor Chittick provides us with a sober and balanced introduction to the esoterism of the Islamic faith. By reading this book not only did I learn the importance of Sufi dhikr (remembrance), but also of the symbolic meaning of the veil - as it is mentioned by Ibn Arabi. This is a wonderful book that should be read by anyone who is interested in esoterism and the Islamic civilisation.
